One of North Texas’ longest-running monthly flea markets, Bonham Trade Days is held the Thursday–Sunday following the first Monday every month. Located at 1100 W 5th St. (corner of 121 & 56), it’s sponsored by the Bonham Kiwanis Club in cooperation with the City of Bonham. Bring a friend and hunt for treasures this November 6–9 and again December 4–7. Open to all!

Carry the Weight: Kayak Together to Combat Veteran Suicide.
Join us as Cooper State Park Doctors Creek Unit hosts the 2nd Annual Veteran Suicide Awareness Kayaking on September 6, 2025.
This event aims to raise awareness and connect community partners with our veteran community, particularly focusing on reaching under-served veteran populations.
Meet at the Lone Pine Kayak Launch Parking lot at 9 a.m. Reserve your spot today!
There will be community outreach booths, and a guest speaker starting at 9 a.m.
Join a ranger to learn the basics of kayaking. Limited equipment available. Reserve your kayak today. Ask about available kayaks to use when registering. Email alicia.o'connor@tpwd.texas.gov or call the park office, (903) 395-3100 to register.
Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in a same kayak. Life jackets will be provided and worn by all participants. Have your own kayak, bring it with you.
Bring: refillable water bottle, towel, water shoes, and sunscreen.
Cost: Park programs are open to the public and free with a paid park entrance fee of $5 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free! Park entry is free with the Texas State Park Pass.

Learn about bats that live at the Heard and see our new bat boxes. Explore the thrilling sights, smells, and sounds of night with Heard Trail Guides. Night hikers will be encouraged to sharpen their senses to be able to spot signs of animal life and learn more about the inhabitants of the Heard. Ages 3 years through adult. Pre-registration required. Members: $12, Non-members: $14.

Beginning the week of September 16 through December 9, preschoolers will have the opportunity to explore all that the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, Texas has to offer. During each weekly program, we’ll meet one of the Heard’s live animal ambassadors and take a nature hike to explore different habitats from wetlands and forests to prairie and ponds. We’ll also prowl through museum exhibits, participate in hands-on science activities, sing songs, listen to stories, and play nature themed games! We’ll talk about our responsibility to nature and what we can do to help the plants and animals around us.Pre-registration is required. Registration closes September 3. Non-members $240; Members $216 per semester (Per semester: 24 hour program/12 weeks).
